Bottle, 6.5%. Caramelly and slightly spicy aroma. Does not smell like spicy hops, however. Hint of paper. Clear dark golden colour. Small stable white head. The flavour is a little yeasty and estery, good subtle sweetness. Sort of like wheat beer esters that I do not like too well, but OK.

30 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a huge white head. Aroma is grassy, light cornish and mild malty. Thick malty, light metallic and toasted malty flavoured. Sweet malty and light metallic finish.

RBESG 2009 Grand Tasting at Harlequin, Sheffield. Even though it is called a bock, it tastes mostly like a stronger lager. and a ratehr uninspired one I might add. thin bodied, malty some corn. Already forgotten.

Bright orange beer, very carbonated, leading to a medium, dense, just yellowish head. Strong sweetish-alcoholic nose; bay leaf, toasted malts. Taste reveals more of the same, but with a dry, spicy (horseradish powder? galangaroot?) finish, dimming the alcoholic sweetness. Aftertaste is long and again the alcohol-extracted spices with the alcoholsweetness. No alcoholwarming, however; quite slick to even a bit viscous, and at least medium bodied. OK, but just too sweet to my liking, and the sharp alcoholcharacter doesn’t help at all.

On tap. A clear, golden to amber beer topped by a finger-thick, white head. Buttery and fruity nose with topical fruits, sugar and grains. Maybe not sounding very good, but it was not bad at all. The flavor has some grains, with fruityness, white sugar and a fine bitterness. Full-bodied and slightly warming, heavy on the carbonation. Warming, bitter and fruity finish. Overall, too buttery but a decent beer. 110502

On draft at Paraplu, Den Haag. Golden pour with white bubbly head. Light hops to aroma and flavor but very bland. Not unpleasant on a hot day, but certainly not a quality beer

Bottle from Albert Heijn. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Semi crisp palate. Strongish malt, reminded me a little of Carlsberg Special Brew but not quite as extreme. A little fruit underneath. Crisp dry finish with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Meh!
