(bottle, 33cl) Almost clear, dark amber to brown colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Mildly sugary and toasted malty aroma with notes of caramel, as well as hints of dried fruits, raisins. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Slightly nutty and sugary malty taste with notes of dried fruits, shades of caramel and cacao; moderately sweet and mildly toast-malty finish with fruiy spots and a well-covered, almost deceptive alcoholic strength. 12.VI.17

May. ’16. A 0.355 l bottle. It poured a hazy brown body with a small head. Weak yeast aroma, touched with pleasant caramel and banana combo. Flavor was lightly sweet, caramel and other finely toasted malt spiced with coriander and cinnamon. Lightly tingling on palate pronouncing the coffee and cocoa notes. Very smooth. Finish was shorter, a bit watery with aforementioned notes now dominating. A bit warming alcoholic and lightly more yeasty here, too. Medium bodied, could be fuller, but okay, a fine Belgian strong anyway. Not really a dubbel, which is probably a good thing.

750ml bottle. Unfiltered orange-brown body. Foamy off-white head. Kind of a buttery chestnut aroma. Nice body, effervescence. Medium bodied, easy drinking. Very mellow malty tones. Classic Italian chestnut, dark fruit, brown caramel, chocolate.
