The premium dark lager has complemented Budweiser Budvar Brewery’s traditional product range. It is brewed in the same way as the premium pale lager, using first-class Saaz hops, Moravian malt, water drawn from 300-metre deep artesian wells and three types of special colour malted barley: Munich, caramel and roasted.
The beer is characterised by a distinctly dark colour, a dry and mildly bitter caramel flavour without any dominant sweetness and a delicious aroma of roasted malt.
Prémiový tmavý ležák doplňuje tradiční nabídku piva z pivovaru Budějovický Budvar, n. p. od roku 2004. Je vyroben stejným postupem jako originální světlý ležák, za použití nejvybranějšího žateckého chmele, moravského sladu, vody čerpané ze 300 m hlubokých artéských studní a tří druhů speciálních barevných ječných sladů: mnichovského, karamelového a praženého.
Charakterizuje jej výrazně tmavá barva, suchá, jemně hořká karamelová chuť bez dominance sladkosti. Vůně je delikátní po praženém sladu.

Ez a közismert sör kitöltve csodaszép. Olyan is marad, míg el nem fogy. Illatra pörkölt és kávés íz - de malátás érzet is. Szinte csak a kávés íz dominál, nem tudod eldönteni, hogy azért keserű, mert komló is van benne, vagy azért mert nyers kávészemeket rágcsálsz :) Barna sörként kissé "testetlen", erőteljesebb komlózás és maláta íz még nem ártana neki, de multiként nagyon rendben. Eddig mindig egyformán jó volt. A komló ízének hiánya miatt nem tudok többet adni neki. *** Mostanában kissé édesebb, testesebb, karamellesebb, és így nem hiányzik belőle szinte semmi.

Almost only the coffee taste dominates, you can't decide if it's bitter because it has hops in it or because you chew raw coffee beans :) As a brown beer it's a bit "disembodied", stronger hop . So far, it's always been equally good. Due to the lack of taste of hops, I can’t give it any more. *** A little sweeter, fuller, caramel lately, and so it lacks almost nothing.

500ml green bottle. (As Czechvar B: Dark) Pours a clear dark brown with red hue and a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and dried fruit. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, caramel, ash and bitter coffee in a dry, hoppy finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation. Easy to drink, not bad.

zapach przyjemny, okrągły, ciemne słody, lekki popiół, kakao, lekka śmietanka, przypieczony jasny chleb, trochę zielonych roślin w tle. kolor ciemnobrązowy, pod światło rubinowy, klarowny, piana beżowa, dość obfita i raczej trwała. w smaku półpełne, podpalane, popiołowe, niesłodkie kakao, lekka drożdżówka i zielone rośliny. całość dość lekka. możliwe, że bardzo minimalnie żelaziste. goryczka niewielka, podpalana, lekko kurzowa i zielona. nasycenie wysokie

Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, barnásfekete szín. Pörkölt malátás, pirított kenyeres illat. Enyhén égett pirítós, lágeres ízek, hajszálnyi gyümölcsös beütéssel. Könnyű, enyhén szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Az árához képest nem is rossz, de persze nem a kategória csúcsa.

Bottle. Black with a good-sized head. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste is roasty and malty with fairly strong notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter hoppy finish. Very balanced. Medium to strong carbonation. Splendid Schwarzbier.
