330ml bottle [Thanks Bernd!]. Clear, copper-ish hazelnut colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white to beige head. Malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, hints of caramel, dark, almost burnt caramel, a slightly nuttily touch, minimally strawy hoppy overtones. Taste is moderately sweet, dark and caramel malty, notes of malt lozenge, some caramel, a nuttily touch, bitter hoppy overtones with a minimally grassy touch. Well balanced, discreet, good.

Forst Sixtus (Doppelbock, IT, 6.5%)
33 cl bottle. Mahogany-red color, big, thick creamy beige head, roasted smell. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and burnt wood, a shadow of plum. Taste is sweetish with a prominent bitter end down the throat, smooth finish, average persistence, lighly warming. Medium to thick body, oily texture, average carbonation. Quite refined and appreciated, not a pure malt one btw.

Draft in Cortina D’Ampezzo. Clear brown color with small frothy off-white head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of caramel, light roasted malt, dried fruits and grassy hops. Taste starts with sweet caramel and nutty, follows by mild fruity acidity and bready with mild bitter finish. Medium body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Pretty nice surprise from Forst...

Niedliches kleines Fläschchen (20 cl) von Getränkefeinkost Berlin. - Rotbraun, klar, rasch schwindender Schaum. Mild rezent, vollmundig. Abgang kräftig holzig-krautig hopfenherb, wenngleich etwas dumpf. Längerer bitterer Nachtrunk. - Ordentlicher Doppelbock nach deutscher Tradition. Den „Maisgritz“ (Maisgrieß) schmeckt man nicht heraus.
