Initially headless, slowly a small dark-greige head builds up on virtually black beer, if not for long. Very coffeeish nose, Ersatzcoffee, touches of sweet, bit of cigar ashes - quite convincing. Unfortunately, the nose also suggests what proves true in the mouth: the texture and body are thinnish, watery, way too thin for a R.I.S. Coffeenotes, coffeebeans, quite bitterish (mainly roasted grains, but some hops too). Thin, too watery, grist slickness. Still, not bad, just too thin... Jeez, where did I GET that beer? Hopduvel?

Bottle 355ml. @ home.Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sweet coffee, brown sugar - sweet malt. Initial flavour is heavy sweet and moderate to heavy bitter, finish flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and heavy bitter with a long duration, sweet burnt, bunrt malt bitter, thin, drk roasted, dark chocolate, choclade beans. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110715]

Bottle shared with Deanso. Almost black pour with very small beige head. Aroma is dominated by strong coffee. Flavor is slightly toned down with a little chocolate. Very good for a Mexican beer

355ml bottle shared with Kermis. Off white head which quickly disappears. Almost no carbonation. Coffee flavour. Quite a decent stout but definitely not an imperial stout

355 ml bottle thanks to ekstedt! He got if from Cracked Kettle, or possibly Bier Compass. Sampled on April 16, 2011Black color, pretty small dark brown head. Dry, char coal, smoke, milky, sausage scent. dry, malty, chalky, char coal, mineral taste. Medium to moussy mouthfeel. Fairly low bitterness. Not something I’d get again, unless on my next trip to Mexico just to see if I like it better on site.
