(Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki, 13 Nov 2014) Black colour with brief, foamy head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, liquorice, hints of smoke, dark fruit and dark chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, liquorice, a touch of smoke and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty, solid and well made porter. Very nice.

Tap at Kaisla, Helsinki. Poured a deep mahogany with a thin off white head and some broken lace. The aroma is roasted malt, grassy hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a dark malt, coffee, dark chocolate grass hop light toothpaste light spice bitter palate and a long hop bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. More like a flat black IPA than a stout, but there are no complaints from me. A really great beer which fully deserves it’s rating.

Black with creamy dark brown head. Minor smell, some citrus there. Aroma of tar, some smoke, citrus, ash. Texture is ashy but also oily. Very flat carbon. Bitter, slightly sour, a faint sweetness.

Tap at Bryggeri Helsinki, Colour is black with small brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, coffee, sweetness, hops and roasted malts. Great.

Small beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty caramelly fruity aroma with honey and licorice notes. Dry-sweetish burnt mealy taste with earthy notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry resiny burnt aftertaste with mealy wooden notes. Nice, but a bit thin and austere. (0.5l draft at Oluthuone Kaisla, Helsinki.)

Aroma is rather light with some roastiness and butter. Feels like rich czech lager. Flavour has roasted malt, coffee, butter and hints of vegetables. Feels like bohemian pils and not like dry stout at all.

Draught@Villi Wäinö. Poured black color with a thin head. Aroma is roasted malt and strong coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, ash and dry hops. Finish is very dry. I could have taken this for an imperial stout.
