Mit 24,8° Plato, einem Alkoholgehalt von 7,8% vol. und einer Reifezeit von über einem Jahr, ist uns ein ganz spezielles Bier gelungen. In der Zeitschrift BIER.PUR wird das fast schwarze Tröpchen mit dem Duft nach Brombeer, Lebkuchen und Karamell beschrieben. Auch der Geschmack fügt sich mit Ribisel, Kakao, hintergründig Piment und einer beeindruckenden Rezenz diesem Dufterlebnis an. Rund und ausgewogen passt es perfekt zu bodenständigen Nachspeisen wie Mohr im Hemd oder einem Zwetschkenkuchen. Wer es herzhafter mag, genießt unseren Chocolate Porter auch gerne zu einem saftigen Wildbraten.

RB backlog. Coffee, ham crust, sweetish dark chocolate. Mild, medium sweet start, then minerals take over, sort of umami, dries up. Bit stale.

0,33l flip top bottle at home bought at Markt am Domplatz St. Pölten. BB 02/2019. dark brown color, almost no head. smells earthy, spices, licorice, light caramel, hints of smoke, nutty. nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes earthy, spices, bit rubbery, lightly smoky, plums, peppery, spices, light caramel, marzipan, nutty. finishes lightly roasty bitter with notes of earth, spices and some nutty notes. decent one overall, flavours are all over the place though, lacks some clarity and depth. hints of some infection noticeable. drinkable overall.
