A classic Scotch Ale. Scotch ales are typically sweet and malty, with a very subdued dose of hops– just enough to provide balance. AleSmith Wee Heavy is a wonderful interpretation of this traditional Scotch style.

Killer Scotch ale, tons of toffee, caramel, and sweet dark fruit notes mixed with hints of peat and smoke and a restrained but tangible bitterness on the back end. Slight boozy warmth adds a liquor-ish fade to the lovely malt cavalcade. Delicious.

On tap at The Mint in Bethlehem, PA. Dark brown color topped by a brief creamy tan head. Burnt caramel nose hints at smoke. Rick treacle malt flavor. Thick, chewy mouth feel. Notes of licorice, burnt sugar, port, prunes, dark dried fruit and brown bread. Quite decadent and worthy of slow, succulent sips. Wow!‼️

Tried on two occasions, 2 yo bottle from 750 ml from Svijet Piva and on tap at Brewdog Leeds. Pours black with nice lasting beige head. Candy, dried fruit, chocolate, black, tan head. Sweet. Warming. Seems that bottle lost a bit of aroma but gained complexity. Also draught version has more dark fruit and berries which is a great combination with chocolate, also making the beer more easy drinkable. Very good.

On tap. Pours a very dark mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of candi sugar, caramel malts, toffee and raisins. Flavors follow same with a light smokiness. Excellent Scotch.

Taster at Rogues Convention Center during the Alesmith Canadian Sales start event with Slack guys. Pours a hazy amber with a beige head. Aroma is very fruity, slightly boozy, some caramel. Similar taste with candied fruits. Very heavy! Quite boozy stuff too. Very good.
