Sample, thanks fonefan! Dark brown, coarse head. Caramely nose with raisins. Sweet with full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate and caramel, fierce pear brandy style alcohol, soem raisins. Exceptionally boozy finish. Edgy.

ABV: 12.0%. Clear dark dark red brown colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, roasted, raisin, alcohol - rum - sweet alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, rum, dark malt roasted, barrel, dark fruit, raisin, rom soaked raisin, balanced, rich. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20210531]

APPEARANCE: almost pitch black color in the glass with brown hues under the light, deep brown when pouring into the glass, beige to brown fluffy head, surprisingly lasting for so high abv beer, moderate lacing with some legs

AROMA: moderate but very pleasant aroma of dried fruits and sweet chocolate, sharp raisins, figs and a touch of prunes, melting brown sugar and caramel, sweet festive bread, sweetened cocoa powder, bread crust, toast, hints of sweet coffee, overall moderate sweetness, hints of earth, wood, dried herbs and green tea; mild roast character on the nose with impressions of charred, toasted wood, perfectly hidden alcohol for 12%

TASTE: smooth and low creamy carbonation, medium body, slightly syrup and oily but not bold or thick mouthfeel; fairly sweet onset of toasted and melting sugars, brown sugar, caramel candy and hints of butterscotch, mild sharp raisins but not so obvious that on the nose; nice amount of roasted bitterness cuts through sweetness, bitter chocolate, mild coffee, light burnt notes, hints of wood; dry aftertaste with lingering bitterness from roasted malts and dried fruit sweetness; spicy notes with touch of alcohol that is perfectly hidden (no warming sensation, heat or medicinal taste)

OVERALL: lacks a bit in mouthfeel, body and ompf but otherwise very pleasant and dangerously drinkable raisin imperial stout; nice amounts of old school roasted bitterness

Bottle (@ Craftbier-Bude, DO): As black as expected, no head as expected, solid sweet nose, aromas of toasted malt, raisins, vanilla underneath, dark caramel and mild booze; solid sweet flavour, accompanied by a very mild acidity; lingering sweet caramelly-roasty and port-vinous finish, followed both by a mild bitterness and a mild alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Can from Biervana, München, consumed at home, listening to Beruit - The Rip Tide, Sunday 7th June 2020 cooking Pastitsio and also Cannelloni.. Pours dark brown a little murky with a light tan head. Chocolate, roasted coffee beans and warm raisins on the nose. In the mouth feels just a little bit thin considering the abv, however the raisins show again, milk chocolate, coffee and dark roasted malts along with a little bitterness wrap up proceedings.
