Vor 65 Millionen Jahren schlug der Chicxulub Asteroid im Golf von Mexiko ein und löste das Aussterben der Dinosaurier aus. Es wurde dunkel. Die Welt veränderte sich.

Heute wollen wir die Bierwelt verändern und lassen unsren Chicxulub auf euren Geschmacksknospen einschlagen.

Ein Oatmeal Stout wird mit Haferflocken, Röstgerste und vielen dunklen Malzen gebraut. Der Hafer verleiht dem Bier eine samtweiche Textur und nussige Aromen. Die Röstgerste und die dunklen Malze sorgen für eine intensive Aromatik nach Kaffee und Zartbitterschokolade. Auf dem tiefschwarzen Bier ruht eine feinporige, cremige Schaumkrone und macht den Chicxulub auch optisch zum Knaller.

Tap at Tribaun. Dark brown color with tan head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, a bit earthy. Taste is the same. Silky mouthfeel. Nice one!

(bottle, 33cl) Black colour with a brown medium-sized foamy head. Slightly sweet and roasted malty aroma with notes coffee and lighter hints of dark chocolate. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dry and moderately roasted malt-character with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, traces of liquorice and burnt caramel, especially towards the roast-bitter finish with a touch of liquorice sweetness. 26.IV.17

At a tasting, thanks, smallish bubbly head, cloudy dark brown color, aroma of mocha and aromatic roasted coffee, flavor of dark bread and roasted coffee, almost completly dry. Mellow, nice and enjoyable.

Pours very dark brown. The frothy head feeds to a nice creamy layer. The aroma is an interesting mix of old shoe, licorice, and pepper. Taste is dry with an underlying oatmeal sweetness and vague hints of rum, but is dominated by the strong licorice tone. Body is a touch thin. Decent stuff.

330ml bottle. Very dark brown almost black, with a small tan head. Aroma: oats, roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate. Taste: roasted malt, oats, caramel, quite sweet dark fruit flavours, coffee, a strange acidity that I didn’t find very pleasant. Smooth mouthfeel, low carbonation, light-medium body.

Ein ganz dunkles Stout mit ganz wenig Schaum. Dafür hat es umso mehr Aromen zu bieten: Schokloade, Vanille etc. In der Hinsicht ist es perfekt, aber irgendwie könnten diese besser miteinander harmonieren. Auch fehlt mir irgendwie ein Abschluss; wie bei einer Limonade, bei der zuwenig Zitronensäure dabei ist.

bottle from @Saeglopur [European Local swap 1/2016], thanks pours dark brown to black with a nice sticky fine brown head. aroma of chocolate, caramel, roasted malts. taste is a bit thin, thin feel, slight watery, roasted malts, chocolate, grain, dry, light coffee, vanilla, a fairly simpel and straight forwarded stout, lightly bitter, light sweetness, weak body with a lof of coffee. --- Beer merged from original tick of Chicxulub Oatmeal Stout on 18 May 2018 at 13:10 - Score: 6

Bottle @ DØE. Pours Very dark brown with a light brown head. Aorma of roasted malt, caramel, little chocolate, cocoa, berries. Flavor is light sweet, malt, cocoa, little chocolate, light sweet berries. Thin to medium body, soft carboantion. 200116
