100% Brettanomyces dark beer, fermented in stainless and aged in used red wine barrels. “Brett” is a unique yeast strain that produces flavors that would be offensive if they weren’t intentional. Flavors of sour cherry, tobacco, oak, and classic “Brett” barnyard funk, balanced by Dark Munich malt chewiness. Enjoy immediately or age at cellar temperature for a couple years.

Pours a dark reddish-purple (almost black) with minimal head. Aroma of fermented grapes and cherry. Flavor has a lot of sour fruit, both cherry and grape flavors present, with a sour tang to the finish. Flavors are a bit flat, not quite as distinct and piercing as in some sour beers I’ve tried. It’s interesting and worth a try.

Sampled at Churchkey during CBC week. Pours a hazy mahogany amber with some off white head. Nose is boozy, nail polish, malt, chestnuts. Smells more infected than soured. Flavor is pithy, vegetal, malt, almond skins, wood. Full acetic finish. Weak effort.
