100% Brettanomyces dark beer, fermented in stainless and aged in used red wine barrels. “Brett” is a unique yeast strain that produces flavors that would be offensive if they weren’t intentional. Flavors of sour cherry, tobacco, oak, and classic “Brett” barnyard funk, balanced by Dark Munich malt chewiness. Enjoy immediately or age at cellar temperature for a couple years.

Tap at CBC 2014. Dark brown in the glass, nice head. Fruity-sourish aroma. Starts intense sourish, fruity like cherries and some other fruity. Finish a bit milder, dry, bitter aftertaste. Okay.

A hazed brown ale with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with ground cherries, light Brett and cork, sour lactic notes, classic Oude Bruin. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with loads of lactic acid, woody notes, licorice, a bit dry and astringent, but well done. On tap at Links.

65 cl. bottle sampled @ "Er Klopt Iemand Op De Deur" Samson & Gert Bierproeving I. Thanks to Chris! Gorgeous waxed bottle. Spare rocky off-white head. Murky brown ruby. Molasses, lots of leather, oodles of wine, tobacco, vinegar, lactic, dark grapes, sour chocolate lactic vinous, cassis, thick lactic. Very interesting, reminds me very heavily of Surly Five, would be interesting to taste them side by side & see what the differences are.

Small white rim; deep brown beer. Very nice, aromatic nose, lactic, oud bruin, dark chocolate. Sourish, oud bruin, lactic acid, sour chocolate (does that exists?), bit of dark fruit. Medium bodied at least, very velvety slick, very light acid burn. Feels more carbonated than it looks. Very nice surprise - strong oud bruin.

Bottle - Cherry and balsamic notes. Cloudy copper with a thin bubbly head. Light cherry and woody notes. Pretty uninspiring considering the cost and packaging. More like a basic Flemish Red.
