This is our big bad birthday breakfast barley wine collab with Wander Beyond. The original Barley wines were made with the first running’s of a brew. So we did two mash’s to make 40 hl of wort in the copper with all pale malts and oats to give a pancakey grist. Then boiled it for 6 hours to get OG up high as…

Shiny red-amber body, fof whtie head. Meady aroma, malt, honey, light dred cherries, light alcohol. Tast... cherry caramel liqueur ending like caramel, soft. Tasty until it gets battered by the big background alcohol presence.

330ml Can - Dark copper red in colour. Rich, fruity and vinous aroma with notes of caramel, fruitcake and dried apricot. Rich taste with berries, blackcurrant, caramel and some syrup. A bit cloying after a while but quite nice.

On tap at Fakin Zagreb. Darker amber coloured, small off-white head, caramel and alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, dried fruits, noticable alcoholand light fruity with touch of wood and alcohol in the finish. Sticky.

Keg at the Axe - London. Pours clear copper-red with a small, creamy off-white head. Really dense, quite bodied sweet, lots of overripe berries, sugary toffee, bread, a little leafy bitterness, alcohol, burnt honey. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with soft carbonation. Hot finish, more stewed berries, alcohol, earth, toffee, vanilla. Pretty hearty stuff. Fun in a small dose.

On tap at Fakin Craft Bar, shared with Višnja 666 and Pilot Goran. Hazy ruby red, small off-white head. Aroma is fruit cake, raisin, spice, alcohol, cookie dough, malt. Sweet, tart fruit, malts, fruit liqueur. Medium body. Warming. Light but lasting finish. Very good. Strong.
