An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel.

Bottle, 2015 vintage. Pours a deep golden orange with a finger of white head. Inviting aroma of honey, vanilla, oak barrel, and floral hoppy bits. Tastes devine. Sweet vanilla and honey blended with oak barrel. A bit of hoppy bitterness, but a lot of sweet. Thick and chewy. I’d buy this again for sure. A beautiful beer.

Bottle: Poured a dark golden color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of strong residual sugar notes with some maple and vanilla notes. Taste is a heavy mix of strong residual sugar notes with some vanilla, maple and bourbon notes with strong cereal notes. Body is full with good carbonation and light alcohol notes are perceptible. Not bad but sweet as hell which makes it hard to drink in large quantities.

Bottle [from trade with iggywh] @ home. Clear orange color, average to medium sized fizzy white to off-white head that completely disappears very quickly. Aroma is malts, bourbon, vanilla. Taste malts, bourbon, vanilla, booze, caramelised sugar and honey. Mostly dominant is the boozy honey-sweetish vanilla. Unfortunately that’s not exactly what I like, guess I should have read the commercial deScription a bit better. Happy to have tried it though. Average to decent body, slight oily yet sort of thin texture, a bit fizzy carbonation.

Bottle at tasting. Golden color. Great aroma of vanilla, bourbon booze and some caramelised malt. Rich thick taste of lots of bourbon vanilla, cream, ripe fruit, raisin and a long flavorful finish. Fantastic.

Bottle at tasting, shared by O. Cloudy orange pour with slightly off white head. Aroma of orange zest, caramel, marzipan with a sweetish orange taste together with light vanilla, caramel, marzipan and just a hint of booze. Quite special and almost like a belgian strong on steroids.

On tap at Freshcraft. Pours a cloudy orange gold with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is strong vanilla bean, oak, toasted malt. Thick mouth, chewy, vanilla, nice sweetness, honey, hides booze well, really enjoyed this.

Bottle: Poured a yellowish brown with a off white to tan head. Aroma was sweet fruit and very boozy. Taste followed along the same route with lots of booze, fermented fruits, and sweet malts.

Bottle - Vanilla, sweet citrus, butterscotch and a touch of booze. Clear gold orange with a small white head. Sweet, stone fruit, vanilla, orange and some boozy notes. A touch of harshness on the throat. I am not a huge fan of this and I hope it gets a bit better with some age.
