Bottle at home. Aroma of liquorice, malt, caramel, chocolate, coffee, roasty notes, hint of vanilla, some dark fruity notes. Flavour is sweet with a light bittersweet finish. Body is medium. Decent Imperial Stout, but not top tier.

Tap at Karl Strauss Brewing, San Diego, CA, USA. Pours black, with very fine cream foam. Aroma is intense of coffee. Body is thick, with moderate carbonation. Taste is quite roasty. Final is not particularly long.

650ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Sweet-ish, roasty, spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of treacle, liquorice, dark caramel, a touch of coffee, smoke, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, roasty dark malty, slightly caramel malty, minimally fruity, notes of caramel and treacle, hints of plum, coffee. Rather light body, thin texture, minimally cloying palate.

Flavor is light sweet, roast malt, coffee, chocolate, light alcohol. Medium body, average carbonation, light sweet finish with a little warming alcohol. 300718
