Black pour with tan head. Pumpkin pie and dark chocolate. Roasted malts, nutmeg etc. As good as I'd expect from Prairie.

-sampled horizontally with 'basic rebecca'
a: oily-ish lighter brown body | absolutely no head
a: cardamom | roasted coffee | pitted fruits
f: sweet prunes | vanilla | light aniseed
t: slightly warming | raisins & figs | nutty & earthy finish
o: complex | very polished | easy-ish drinking (for ABV)

stubby twelve ounce bottle | Hy-Vee (grocery): Papillion/Omaha, Nebraska | 07-October-2019 | US$7,99 | no bottle date | sampled: 07 & 08 October 2024 (exactly five years after purchase!)

-final verdict: much more smooth & complete than 'basic rebecca', easy-drinking & very well-aged. (perhaps the extra three years aging helped this out?)-

Pours black with pretty minimal tan head. It has a very spicy aroma with cocoa and pumpkin and… dates? The flavor is quite sweet. Chocolate, Xmas spices, pumpkin, roast malt. Very tasty. Full bodied. Nice dessert beer.

Bottle shared in CW - cheers to Dave. Pours deep brown with a small, creamy tan head. Spicy, sweet, lots of graham cracker, cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, dry burnt spices, cocoa. Fun.

6th Floor bottleshare. Thanks to Wingman. Opaque black brown beer, small tan head. Smooth dark malts, smooth dark chocolate. An array of spices that form a kinda blanket cinnamon mintyness. Fairly dry finish. Different. Very spiced. Good to drink a bit, could I drink a bottle - nah!

On tap at Prairie OKC, pours black with a small off-white head. Nose brings out lots of nutmeg and cinnamon upfront, with some dark sugars further back. Flavour has a rich palate, but it's too dominated by seemingly artificial pumpkin notes -- lots of nutmeg and cinnamon, without any pumpkin puree or depth to the malt profile. It's alright -- not my thing.
