Tickling the Ivories - “Totally dusted,” started Pablo Cruz. “And I can truly say I’ve never felt better. Posers often overcomplicate it, but I’ve found all truths associated with the act are easily encapsulated in a few words. Skiing is a dance, and the mountain always leads.” Re-tune that Keytar boiz. We’re bustin Rig out of Ski Jail! Citra, Calypso, and Comet carve a trail full o’ tropics complimented in full by a dual-duty hazemaker. Is it juice? From concentrate? What’d you say the name of that was again?

16 ounce can. Hazy mustard gold color. Small creamy beige head. Fragrant citrus hop nose hints at mango, pineapple and pear. Flavor follows nose with added notes of biscuit malt, lemon and light pine. Creamy mouthfeel. Bittersweet peppery finish.

$5.50 pint can, WW. Murky gold with a small off-white head. Aroma is mainly grapefruit and orange peel. Flavor is juicy orange and grapefruit, little else bogging this down. I'd almost guess this was a glass of juice.

Can from Holiday Market. Pours a hazy straw gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Passion fruit, grapefruit and light mango and pine on the nose. Smooth with lowish carbonation, but a bit watery on the palate. ABV hidden well though. Dank, prickly pear alongside pine on the finish. Not bad but a bit thin. Good on a hot day.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but was just released locally. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, red apple, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, red apple, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, light peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, red apple, blueberry, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with and awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/breadygrainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.2%. Overall this is a fantastic NEIPA. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Nicely soft feel, and not aggressive. Amazing Citra, Nelson, Motueka profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hop complexity; with a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

Draught @ City Hops. Cloudy golden with very small foamy whitish head, sweet citrus-mango aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter citrusy taste with mango and stinky cheese flavor, smooth body, long finish. Good and balanced.

Hazy light golden with frothy white head. Lots of band-aid and tropical fruit in the nose. Lots of tropical fruit with brett. Low bitterness, well integrated. Nice stuff.
