Can from 8 Degrees Plato. Pours a murky orange gold with a full 2 fingers of foam that dissipates to no head. Floral honey aromas with some buttered bread and banana cream pie underneath. Under-carbonated for the style and lots sweetened honey on the palate. A bit of a creamy texture. Lingering clover honey that coats the palate and faint pepper. Feels heavy and sweet for the style. Needs more carbonation and a lighter malt bill. Not what I crave in a Belgian/French saison. --- Beer merged from original tick of Dry Honey Saison - Woodshed Pilot Series on 01 Aug 2019 at 23:35 - Score: 6. Original review text: Floral honey aromas, buttered bread & Banana cream pie aromas. Under-carbonated for the style. Heavy, sweet & boozy. Mild peppery finish.

Can. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of sweet but dry honey with flora, grass and a bit of Belgian yeast supporting. Flavor has sweet honey supported by grass, straw and Belgian yeast.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/21/2019. Pours fairly hazy medium golden/amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness; herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and slight wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, melon, apricot, red apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, honey, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance; and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is a fantastic saison. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, honey, pale/wheat malts, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink, with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Fantastically well rounded classic saison yeast complexity; with a great balance of honey, pale/wheat malts, and earthy noble hops. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.
