Bottle, 5.6%. Good aroma of dark malts, slightly spicy. Clear dark amber colour. Good semi-stable off-white head. The flavour is very caramelly with a good rustic note of chewed malt. Low to medium bitterness.

Bottle. Pours clear copper brown (why?) with airy but stable light beige head. Clear aroma of hops and malt, with touches of caramel. Bitter, hoppy flavour, with sweet notes of caramel malt, and touches of fruit. Dry, bitter finish. Decent, if a little watery.

2014 version, 330ml bottle, kindly shared by djoeye. Good looking with a clear copper coloured body under a decent beige head that laces well. Moderate aroma of caramel malts, earth and dried fruits. The flavour follows suit with brown malts up front joined by sweet berries and herbal hops. Malt bitter tail. Mild carbonated. Has got its tasty moments (Tromsø 07.05.2014).

Draught at Glenfiddich Warehouse, Stockholm. Clear nut brown, rich creamy head. Grassy perfumy nose with some menthe. Fairly dry at first with medium body and clean, crisp mouthfeel. Some odd but interesting oily peppermint. Mild late bitterness.
Earlier Rating: 3/27/2010 Total Score: 3.2
Bottled. Clear mahogany colur, rich firm head. Light pineapple aroma. Dry and bready with dense, rounded mouthfeel. A bit fruity with somewhat restrained salty tropical fruit hoppiness. Medium bitterness. Not really standing out by itself, but a well balanced beer to go with food.

Draft @ Ölrepubliken, Göteborg as Nils Oscar Våröl 2012.
