Black with a medium sized foamy tan head that left decent lacing. Roasty with strong cinnamon, maple syrup, coffee, vanilla and a hint of smoke. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied

12 ounce can. 11.4% ABV. Nearly opaque black brown color. Frothy tan head. Spotty lacing. Roasted malt aroma hints at vanilla, cinnamon and maple. Flavor follows nose. Bittersweet chocolate, cinnamon, maple and a hint of oakiness. Somewhat thin for a big stout. Light on complexity and depth. Dryish bitter finish and aftertaste.

Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown with a finger of beige foam that lingers, then dissipates. Lovely French toast aromas permeate the nose. Cinnamon, vanilla, butter and bread and maple syrup all stand out and give it the as advertised aromas. More of the same on the palate. A bit thin in body, but the flavors are there. Lingering French toast and maple syrup on the finish. Still beer-like without being too pastry. Diggin' it.

Can thanks to my mom! Pours black with a brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of maple and bourbon with dark grains, coffee and roasted malts supporting. Flavor combines coffee and maple with notes of bourbon and dark grain backing.

12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 8/27/2018. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a small dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, maple syrup, cinnamon, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, maple syrup, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, maple syrup, cinnamon, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery hops; roast/char bitterness; and cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, maple syrup, cinnamon, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, toasted dark bread, smoke, char, dark fruit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, maple syrup, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet and spiciness balance; with minimal acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.3%. Overall this is a fantastic spiced imperial oatmeal stout. All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, maple syrup, spices, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Would have preferred the bitterness toned down to be more dessert-like. Great balance of rich malts, maple syrup, spices, and earthy hops. A highly enjoyable offering, and great base style example as expected. Nearly identical to the Pigeon Hill YMOFT at a lower ABV.
