26.09.2013, 0,375l bottle shared with Palme @ Beer Temple:
Small creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is very fresh and hoppy, lots of hop pellets, citrus, citrus peel, grass, sorrel, sour apple skin, raw rhubarb. Taste is very fresh, lots of hops, citrus peel, citrus, cardboard, bark, grass, sorrel, green apple skin, raw rhubarb. Dry mouthfeel. Nice, but I wouldn’t say this one has anything to do with a gauze. Rather a very hoppy citrusy saison maybe.

Pours a light, yellow-orange gold color with a small to medium off-white head, kinda fizzy. The beer is somewhat cloudy, though I did have the bottle on its side until about half hour before opening it. I can’t say that I really care about clarity in beer, though. No lacing, no bubbles at all after a couple minutes. It’s a sour; what do you want. The aroma is quite interesting. Big sour apples, oak and lemons shot through with tropical fruit, peaches, grapes, tangerines and some floral hoppiness. It’s not an aroma that I’d immediately peg as hoppy, but it makes sense, upon reflection. It smells like the sweet, aromatic side of the hops with very little of the danker, resinous notes. Solid mix of sweet and sour, and definitely not something that I’ve smelled before. The taste is more sour forward. There’s some light peach/grape/pineapple/tangerine action in the finish, but it’s mostly a very nice, lambic-ish sour on the tongue. Good pucker. Tastes like a version of Spontannoble without the magical Sauternes barrel’s depth and complexity. Still, this is better than lots of highly touted sours. The 5.5% abv lets the bright, complex sourness shine. There’s some wonderful musty funk in the mix. The sourness is lambic-ish in its complexity; this is no one-note, lactic or acetic bomb. Very dry. As the beer warms, more of the hop flavor comes out in the taste. It adds a very pleasant element to the beer. Floral peaches and tropical tangerines meet those baby gueuze flavors. The mouthfeel is light. Medium to medium-strong pucker. This isn’t quite as good as Spotannoble, but it reminds me of that beer considerably. More breweries need to brew lambic-style sours under 6% abv, though I imagine it requires a rather sure hand.

Thx! to Kraddel @ "I cannot believe that you brought your own beer to a beer festival" @ Modeste 2013. 375 ml. split by 2. BBF 14/02/2023. Take 20 yr for bottling. Appearance is darker lambic orange with basically no white head. Nose is insanely huge horse blanket, huge funk, prob. biggest ever, some orange, big hop presence, this was dry-hopped by 12! hops, Sauvin is prob. heaviest,… Taste is huge horseblanket, lots of funk, orange peel & mandarin, bitterness & hoppy flavours dominate in the back but individual hops are nay impossible to pick up, juicy bitter hops in the back, if I had to pick Sauvin, Citra & Amarillo dominate,… Reg. geuze body, touch watery. I do not think that this taste like Saint Gilloise despite what some other note. Nice but pretty unbalanced. Still a neat interpretation of the original style. I must say that unlike the Spontan, this one feels like an actual geuze & not an imitation. Not sure what changed but this is quite fascinating.

Sample at the "Far Out! Space-themed beer tasting" on 10/01/2013. The beer is a murky yellow-orange color with a thin white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Vinous aroma with notes of funky yeast and florals. Light-bodied with a barnyard character and flavors of earthy yeast, citrus, and wood. The finish is pithy citrus and funky yeast. Pretty good overall.

Pours slightly hazed gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to mottle surface. Super elastic bubble plastic and varnish aromas. Crisp with silly putty and citrus upfront turning dry in the lasting pith finish.

Draught @ Mikkeller & Friends. Pours hazy golden with a small frothy white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much lacing on the glass. Smell is sour, fruity and funky with crackers, lemon juice, barnyard, hay, wood, horseblanket and lemon zest. Taste is sour and slightly malty with wheat crackers, lemon juice, grapefruit juice, hay, dry soil, wood, barnyard, horseblanket, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest and hints of pine needles. Mouthfeel is dry, slightly tart and light bodied. Finish is sour and tart with crackers, lemon juice, barnyard, horseblanket and lemon zest. Ok...
