East IPA unites the far-flung global roots of the style into a uniquely balanced IPA with malt-driven notes of toffee rounding out pleasantly bitter and aromatic hops.

Brooklyn East India Pale Ale, originally a summer seasonal, has been getting raves since becoming a year round offering in 1996. English malts and hops are used to brew this EIPA in the classic, heavily-hopped style of the 19th century beers.

Bottle. Clear deep golden liquid. Moderate white head of average retention. Aroma: honey, nectar, minor resin. Medium body. Taste: rather sweet, massive and clean biscuit malts, additional resiny hops. Medium bitterness. Ok, let's try a fresher one.

355ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. Bottled in 2017 but still in date. Pours clear gold with a tall off-white head. Aroma is dank hops, caramel, malt, marmalade. Does not smell fresh. Taste is pine, citrus, biscuity malt, big bitterness.

Thuis uit een flesje van de afwijkende inhoud van 355 ml. Helder geel, wit schuim. Een redelijk hoppig aroma, goed smaak. Lekkere ipa.

Tap at Captain cook. Need to rerated but this was really yummy. A homely ipa that could go the distance. (3/5/18) rerated at Bishops Arms Östersund. 3.8 to 3.4 (unknown). Rerated at Hoggars, Frösön. Malty aroma. Caramel colour. British hoppy taste with a slightly confused pine and sweetness end. Kept at 6.6. (17/6/25).

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21A). Bottle 35.5 cl - Batch unreadable (BBF unreadable). AROMA: medium-low oxidized hop aroma (dried grass), followed by a low malty-sweet and almost neutral background. APPERANCE: deep gold and clear. medium-low ivory head with medium retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with medium-low oxidized hop flavor (dried grass), followed by a medium-low to low malty-sweet neutral background. medium-high bitterness with an almost dry and bitter finish that endures. PALATE: medium-low body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: sample already oxidized.

330 ml bottle. Pours with a clear amber color and a mdeium size white head. Malty nose with a caramel-orange sweetness, some bisquit. Fruity taste of lychee and orange with some toffee-caramel follows by some nice pine hops.
