For our 108th birthday, we’ve brewed up something special. Our first coffee ale, crafted in collaboration with Austin’s own Chameleon Cold-Brew, made with dark-roasted specialty malt and Chameleon’s beloved cold-brewed coffee, it’s sure to wake up your tastebuds. But it won’t be here forever, so pour yourself a fresh cup while you can.
Wake up and smell the beer!

Clear mahogany-brown color with a medium beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Roasted coffee, malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with a roasty coffee and malt flavor, and a slight nutty and chocolatey character in the background. The finish is coffee and mild chocolate. Decent overall.

Bottle. Earthy coffee, chocolate malt, and hay aroma. Dark brown with moderate tan head. Moderately sweet milky coffee malt and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Okay body. One of Shiner’s better offerings.

Watered down cold brew but it's refreshing at least.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark brown color with an orange hue and a large foamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was brewed coffee, a bit burnt and woody. The flavor was slightly burnt brewed coffee and wood. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle. A- Earthy, coffee, roasty, dry cocoa, steamed vegetables. A- Dark mahogany color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Earthy coffee, roasty, vegetal. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, earthy finish. O- Certainly not a sweet coffee. At least I was hoping for that being a birthday beer that I correlate with sweetness. A very earthy and vegetal coffee. Some will like this, I can’t decide, but I’m leaning towards no.

Bottle: Deep, deep, clear brown with a thin tan head. Coffee, caramel aroma. Taste is cola, coffee malt, chocolate malt. Mild......and tasty....on the thin side, but pretty decent flavours... Not a bad little coffee beer at all.

Pour is a clear cola brown with a small tan head. Aroma is a ok coffee with some roasted nuttiness. Flavor is again a ok coffee with more of a earthy malt. The coffee is pretty weak but the roasted peanut is decent. Definitely not on par with breakfast stout or others of that ilk. The best beers Shiner makes are their birthday beers.
