As if DRIPA wasn’t enough, we first brewed this Triple Rice IPA for our 2013 Summer Solstice Celebration. The larger grain bill and longer boil leads to a big malty character, yet the hops are still at the forefront, all sticky and citrusy. The finish lingers a bit longer than DRIPA, but is still clean and dry with just a bit of heat.

12 oz. bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a hazy dark golden with a minimal white head. Nose is quite light, giving off mild notes of rice and subtle hops. Flavour brings out quite a bit of boozy paint thinner-like notes, with rice, a little herbal hops and some floral. This is like a boozier, more cosmetic-like version of the DRIPA which I wasn't a fan of either. It somehow remains drinkable, largely because the flavours aren't that potent. The rice seems to mellow everything out. Finishes boozy. Okay.

Pours a clear dark copper-amber color with a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, herbs, pine and malt. The finish is chewy with a moderately bitter resiny hops aftertaste. Good beer all around.
