Bottle 33cl, 12.0%. Pours like a syrup, mahogany brown/red with an off white head. Aroma of sweet malt/barley, dried fruits, resins, prunes, berries very typical Barley Wine. Flavor of medium malty sweetness, dried fruit, medium bitterness from the barley, caramel, brown sugar, smooth, alcolhol noticable but not overwhelming, nice long warming aftertaste with a spicy finish, nice Barley Wine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33cl bottle from Drink shop, Tallinn. Pours clear mahogany coloured with an off-white head. Strong malty aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruits, spices and alcohol. Sweet, smooth and flavourful with a certain bitterness, a bit vinous and quite nice as winter warmer I would guess. A bit too much on the sweet side for me, but certainly decent.

(Keg at BrewDog Helsinki, 20150622) The beer poured deep ruby red and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, molasses, caramel and alcohol burning my nose. Palate was full bodied, warming and dryish with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, sweetness, caramel, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. At this point this brew was rather harsh and also excessively sweet. The strong body may show that aging will help with the harshness and sweetness.

Keg at BD Helsinki. It pours deep ruby with a decent beige head. The nose is rich, sweet, jammy berry, fruit cake, earth, raisin, eccles cake, warming alcohol, ginger snaps and black tea. The taste is smooth, oily, bitter-sweet, varnish, resinous, piney, dried fruits, fruit cake, toffee, umami, glacier cherry, alcohol boost, toasty brown sugar, gingersnaps and general warmth with a slick finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Rich and decadent, yet remains pretty drinkable. Good stuff.

Tap at Brewdog Helsinki, Helsinki. Colour is clear brown with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Grain, dark fruits, dry fruits, raisins, warming alcohol, fresh hops, malts. Hints of booziness but one of the best Estonian beers so far. I especially like this bready maltiness. Aroma also superb.

Draught @ BrewDog Helsinki. Aroma has ripe fruits, some sweet malt and woody notes. Flavour is sweet with caramel, toffee, ripe fruits and woody tones. Alcohol is present but it just balances the sweetness. Noce slow sipper, the alcohol becomes too dominant after some sips though.

Draught @ Brewdog Helsinki Pours dark reddish brown with a smooth head. Aroma of berries, malts, caramel, toffee, hints of earthy notes and hops. Taste is malty, smooth and sweetish with some raisins, ripe fruits, hops, earthy notes, toffee and syrup. Finish is heavy, warming, sweet, malty and caramely with some bitter hops, toffee, earthiness, berries, ripe fruits, raisins and toffee. Feels almost like a mix between an English barley wine and a Belgian strong ale. Heavy.

Tap @ Speakeasy, Tallinn. Pours dark ruby with beige head. The head stays for some time. Aroma is sweet, caramel, fruits, malt. Flavor is sweet and sticky, caramel, fruits, malt and alcohol. Finish is dry bitter. Overall: good. Rating: 7:4:7:3:15=3.6 Update: tried it again from bottled and it’s less enjoyable. Booze is very overwhelming in this one.
