(tap) hazy brown colour with a small beige head; aroma of brown sugar, wet wood, jam; smooth palate; balanced flavour with a long, light bitter sweet finish

On tap at Craft Brewed, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with whiskey barrels, some alcohol, and subdued caramel and dark fruits. Flavour is along the same lines, with lightly tart dark fruits, whiskey, and alcohol. Not really cohesive, and the tartness I don't think lends itself well to the style. It's not bad, but not what I'm looking for in a BA quad.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish copper with a small head that dissipates quickly. Toffee-forward nose with caramel chews, dried apricot, fig and light chocolate notes. Sweet on the palate, more dried fruit and caramel. Body is a touch thin for a quad. Some light vanilla and oak, but not overly so. Maybe not aged so long in the barrels? Sweet finish with toasted toffee and fig and prunes. --- Beer merged from original tick of TENN No. 12 - Belgian-Style Quad on 18 Nov 2017 at 10:50 - Score: 7
