Pours a pitch black with a brown head that lingers for a bit, then dissipates. Big nose with cacao nib, black forrest cake, light berry and roasted malt. Some light umami notes and soy sauce as it warms, but not the main aromas. Fairly chewy on the palate for 9% abv imperial stout. Wow, really punches up for the abv. Some heat on the palate, but tons more cacao nib and some marshmallow. Faint oaky dryness on the palate. Damn this is a complete surprise. Very close to what Evil Twin does well. Ends with brownies and berry notes. Very impressive.

Pounder: Dark chocolate, charred oak, coffee nose. Black, thin beige head. Tar, espresso, charred oak, creosote licorice. Horehound finish. Full body, easy carbonation. Roasty, rich, and big.

Roast and caramel with some chocolate. Black pour with decent head. Bittersweet finish. Good. Tap at brewery.
