This traditional German style lager has the malt profile of a Helles and the hop character of a Pilsner, but is slightly stronger than both. The minute addition of common minerals to the brewing water, and the longer traditional decoction mash impart a crisp and remarkable balance between the malt complexity and the subtle bitterness.

Can from Discount. Pours a deep gold with a finger of head. Light bready aromas with some honey and granola. Good carbonation, quite dry on the palate. Good mouthfeel, but a little too dry on the finish.

Can. Corn, light black pepper, barley malt, and hay aroma. Golden yellow with large off-white head. Moderately sweet toffee malt, and moderately bitter weedy hay/quinine flavor. Good body. Pretty much spot on for a Dortmunder.

Can: Slightly hazy gold with a short, off-white head. Aroma of grain, atouch of corn. Taste is sweet, just a little peppery, corn. Grain malt. Mid grassy bittering. Nicely bodied and solid.
