Can. A- Caramel, mild pine, mild citrus. A- Copper color, clear liquid, off white head. T- Caramel, malty, mild pine. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Paid $7 for a can of this at a place in Wyoming and they didn't even know what I meant when I asked for the Melvin. First sign to not order. Got the can and it was 15 months passed the best by date. Naturally this was a winner.

Got in a trade with The-Adjunct-Hippie. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 3/12/2019. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, honey, cracker, toasted biscuit, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly crisp/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy, and fairly crisp to drink with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Fantastic Centennial, Simcoe, Citra profile. Extremely juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced bready malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering crisp resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and outstanding classic tasting west coast style example.

Draught at the Black Sheep. Good fruity aroma. Cloudy dark golden colour. Stable white head. The flavour is fruity, slightly overripe or perhaps even rotten. Peppery alcohol finish. Better than it sounds, though.

Taste at the Coaltrain IPA Madness tasting. Pours a clear, straw color, with a small, bubbly, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, cloves, pine sap, and dust. Sharp bitterness. Fair.
