Lampshade Party Ale™ is a limited release that celebrates a night best partially remembered.
This Double IPA is dry-hopped with Australia’s Galaxy and the Pacific Northwest’s new-school IPA hop, Idaho 7. The hop character jumps out at you with juicy aromas of fruit punch, red berry and pineapple. Bitterness is there, but balanced with a nice malt character.
Feel free to indulge, and if a lampshade comes into play, so be it.

Bottled form planet wine. Clear amberish pour. Fruity hops and such, resin, caramel malts. A good non juicy double IPA, more on the dry side and pretty good.

Pour is hazy off pale. Thin creamy head. Smell is mild hop perfume. Initial taste is over the top boozy bitter IPA. Yes, the taste is big bitter nasty hops coating the whole inside your mouth as well as covering the hole inside yer mouth, LOL. Very uncivilized and very nasty, or did I already say that? Just asking. That euphoric state seems to be coming on pretty quick with this one. Almost initiates the gag reflex with every slug, its so bitterly nasty. A couple of these would be like drinking a couple of icehouse edge 24 ouncers. Whew. Can barely tolerate. I don't think I've had another brew more uncivilized than this from old Mr. Bell. Lampshade it is fer sher. Put a lampshade on yer head and stumble around, make sure somebody gits a photo of it my friend. Wait till the neighbors see me running around in the yard with a lampshade on my head, heheheh. I think I'm getting dizzy after one beer. This stuff is more annoying than a fresh barley wine, I mean whine, LOL. There, you have it. Just another one of a million heavy duty IPA out there.

Orange juice, strawberry, malt, and earthy grapefruit peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate off-white head. Moderately sweet orange, lemon, strawberry, malt, and moderately bitter grapefruit peel and pine flavor. Good balance.

12 ounce bottle. Amber orange color. Frothy beige head. Clinging lace. Spicy hop aroma hints at sweet berry and citrus. First sip yields notes of bitter orange, resiny pine, toasted brioche and grapefruit pith. Big and hoppy. Boozy notes. Bitter piney finish.

Grapefruit and some tangerine. Touch of booze. Classic DIPA style. Well balanced, with good flavour. I love Bells but not sure this one holds up, and I'm not a super hazy fan either. Bitter end. Bottle.

12oz bottle. Really nice to have galaxy and idaho7 in a non wheaty/oaty beer. Still has new school sensibilities, lead by the Idaho7, as the Galaxy is subtler. Way more drinkable and overall enjoyable than the plethora of hazy IIPAs out there right now. Good stuff!

Pours a hazy copper color and smells of citrusy hops. The flavor has big hops bitterness with resin and some citrus. It’s medium to full bodied. Quite good. Not great.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours translucent copper tinged gold with a smallish near-white head. Aroma of red berry, citrus and maybe other fruits. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is hinting at dank; red berry, citrus, and after a little thought there is a suggestion of pineapple. A fair dose of caramel, but there's certainly enough hop to cover that. So dry and nicely, but not harshly, bitter. Quite pleasing.
