Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a deep brown to black with 2 fingers of foam that lingers. Smooth and rich chocolate aromas with some faint bourbon and oak notes as it warms. More of the same on the palate. Well made, but fairly one-dimensional...would like a little more barrel. Didn't really find the Belgian characteristics. --- Beer merged from original tick of Departed Spirit on 22 Oct 2018 at 13:59 - Score: 7

On tap at the Brick Store Pub at the 17th Anniversary. Pours black, with a thin, tan head. The aroma is tobacco, molasses, milk chocolate, cloves, and black cherries. Very sweet, with a mellow bitterness. Medium body, velvety mouthfeel, and smooth. This is a very nicely made stout, with distinct bourbon notes, but not dominated by the barrel. Great aromatics, pleasant flavor, and a great palate. Highly recommended!
