Het zwaarste bier van Brouwerij de Prael is ook weer op Belgisch leest geschoeid. De zoete karamel geur is opvallend aanwezig in deze afsluiting van de dag.
The strongest beer brewed at Brouwerij de Prael again follows the Belgian tradition. This beer has an impressive, sweet caramel aroma, and is a great way to round off your day.

Very dark reddish brown. Bubblegum, ripe prunes, fresh figs, candy sugar. Medium bodied, slick feel. Very, very sweet. Not for everyday, but very good aroma.

Dobry quadrupel, niewatpliwie, piekna bezowa piana, moze nie za wielka i niezbyt trwala ale puszysta. Kolor brazowo ciemny z lekkimi fioletowymi refleksami. W zapachu suszone sliwki i daktyle. W smaku takze slodowosc bierze gore i smak suszonych owocow. Nieco tortowego ciasta na koniec. Alkohol trohe wyczuwalnu ale ukryty. Skromna butelka z prosta etykieta.

Bottle thanks to Leighton at the Pre-Zwanze. It pours dark mahogany brown with a small beige head. The nose is fig, raisin, sultana, brown bread, brown sugar and fruit cake. The taste is raisin, date, prune, cherry skin, blackcurrant, caramel, toffee and dense bread. Medium-full body and fine carbonation. Smooth, well-balanced and rather fruity. A very nice quad.

330 ml stubby bottle, from Voldby KΓΈdmandsgΓ₯rd. ABV is 11.5%. Dark brown colour, large to moderate tan head. Pleasant aroma of brown malts, brown kandij sugar, molasses and caramel, dark dried fruits, a hint of oak. The flavour is sweet and sugary (maybe too much), with the same notes as in the aroma. Minimal hops. Smooth to drink, the alcohol is well hidden.

(Draught at De Prael Proeflokaal, Amsterdam, 22 Feb 2013) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, raisins and dark bread. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, dark rye bread, raisins and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Full body, fairly sweet. Well balanced with alcohol deceptively well hidden. Nice one.

Bottle shared with Deanso. The aroma is dry malty leading to a yeasty malty sweet alcoholic beer. Nice to drink but not good enough for a session and at 11+ percent too its not advisable either!
