Het zwaarste bier van Brouwerij de Prael is ook weer op Belgisch leest geschoeid. De zoete karamel geur is opvallend aanwezig in deze afsluiting van de dag.
The strongest beer brewed at Brouwerij de Prael again follows the Belgian tradition. This beer has an impressive, sweet caramel aroma, and is a great way to round off your day.

33 cl. bottle @ home - thx. to Martinus for this one. Pours dark brown, light hue bordeaux, smaller tanned head. Smell is sweet boozy, berries, licorice, molasses, toffee, caramel malts. Bit odd taste, very heavy on chocolate milk with some plain chocolate, lightly watery, berries, touch roast, twigs, sweet spices, somewhat bitter in the end, where the alcohol pops up and starts warming your through, strong chocolate milk nature remains, rather enjoyable at first if bit odd, gets hard to finish by the end of the bottle - yeah

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, brown in color and with a thin layer of beige bubbles. Quite weak aroma, especially considering the ABV. Some milky sourness, but mostly caramel and dried fruits, all weak though. Full-bodied, sweetish and lightly warming on the palate, with dried fruits, caramel sweetness and some yeasty hints. Dried fruits and caramel in the end. Not the worlds best quadrupel, thatβs for sure. 120817

Bottled 330ml (BB 01/2013)
Thanks bierkoning! Deep ruby color, small vanishing cola-like head. Sweet caramel and berries in the nose. Medium to full-bodied. Very, very sweet. Raisins, caramel, prunes. Some spiceyness in the aftertaste. Sweetness hides ABV quite well. Simple abt, not sure if it gets more complicated after cellaring.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque dark brown with a small, rough off-white head. Loads of brown sugar up front, somewhat pruney. Rich body, lowish carbonation, dark dried fruit, very metallic, again lots of brown sugar, some chocolate. No bitterness but some warming alcohol. The metal is really off-putting. 030812
