Bottle @ home. Cloudy dark brown color with a small white head. Smell malts, some herbs it seems. Taste sweet, some herbs or spices. Average carbo, average body.

Bottle 2009. Dark brown color. No much head, but enough carbonation. Aroma is sweet, caramel, a hint of dried fruit, some yeast. Flavor is sweet, like milk chocolate. Quite full bodied, and warming in the throat. Finishes slightly bitter. Nice winter warmer

On tap at the brew pub. Cloudy red-amber beer. Little white head. Light crisp palate. Rich sweet malt. Undertone of red fruits. Crisp minerals, black currants and some herbs in the finish. Nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a hazy, chestnut brown with one ring of white head. Nose is candy sugar, dried fruit, plums, root beer candy. Flavor is very sweet, plums, dried fruits, dates, candy sugar, brown sugar, a little malt. Full bodied, a little sticky but otherwise drinkable.

From tap at the proeflokaal. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty, yeasty and overripe fruity. Sweet caramelish, fruity and light yeasty. Sweet, caramelish and light fruity into smooth finish. Sweet and lasting caramelish finish.

33cl Bottle, thanks Marc! Clear dark reddish brown colour, off white head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, raisins, burnt caramel, roasted malts, light chocolate. Flavour is sweet, malty, dark fruits, burnt sugar, light roasted, chocolate, bitter finish with some alcohol. Medium bodied at best. Way better than the first version imo.

(bottle, 33cl, 11.5% abv) Hazy, ruby brown colour with a mid-sized tanned foamy head. Sweet and strong roast-malty aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruits and Brandy-like alcohol. Sweet and sour flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Roasty malty and sour-fruity taste with notes of berries; roasty bitter and sour-fruity finish with notes of alcohol. 01.III.11
