House IPA with Citra, El Dorado & Mosaic. When it comes to IPA, Rare Trait is our crown jewel, our mission statement, a proverbial shot over the bow, our raison d’etre. Notes of Tangerine, Mango and Candied Peach, bur riding a restrained bitterness that has defined our style from Day 1.

Draft pour at Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy, glowing straw gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates. Dried pineapple, grassy, leafy hops and some faint yeast aromas. Smooth and juicy texture, medium bitterness on the finish. Crushable but pretty straightforward.

Draft. An unclear amber beer with a lazing white head. The aroma has notes of hops, petrol, spices, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of pineapple, hops, spices, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy orange with small off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is mango, pure sugar, pineapple. Medium body, juicy hop, mango, pineapple, light bitterness, very nice.

Taster at the brewery - turbid orange pour - muddled, muted nose of mango and peaches - flavor is similar - muddy, with nothing that really pops out - some tropical character, moderate sweetness, very subtle background huskiness - lacks the brightness and vibrancy I’d like from an IPA or session IPA.
