Amber is a well cellared, rounded, malt-accentuated Australian wild ale. Our traditional recipe calls for an extended boil which caramelises rustic pale grains in order to develop a copper colour and malt sweetness. Light levels of hopping balance with the toasty characters in an extended cooler fermentation with our house culture. Following fermentation, we rack Amber into French oak barrels to further develop a smooth palate and express funky, tart characteristics from our indigenous yeast. We select and blend well evolved barrels for a desired malt forward with subtle acidic character. The slightly heavier characteristics of this beer make a fantastic complement to food and offer a variety of flavours to both compare and contrast in pairing.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has earthy grains and tart red fruits with a bit of oakiness and sweetness underlying. Flavor has sweet grains and growing tart red fruits with oak and bread backing.

It pours a lightly hazed amber, nah quite hazy amber, small head of foam.
It smells malty, tart in a wine like acetic way, pretty massive aromas of Brett.
Malty sweetness, vinous tartness, lotsa Brett funkiness...dry overall and pretty amazing overall. I've had a few of this brewer's beers and not one would come close to being disappointing.
Mouthfeel is respectable.
I reckon that the Wildflower Brewing is currently a sleeper; bigger distribution and that will no longer be the case. Mark my words.

Bottle shared at Zack's Epic Tasting. Pours a clearish copper with a full 2 fingers of foam that lingers. Leathery, caramel aromas with some grassy mineral and funk notes. Smooth with great carbonation and mouthfeel. More funk and caramel, light pine and lemony citrus. Smooth, leathery funk and lingering toasted malt on the finish. On tap at the brewery. Pours brown. Biscuit, orange peel, lemon, biscuit, acetic acid, bit of bread. Spritzy. Good.

Wildflower Brewing Amber Batch 2 2017 6% A lovely amber orange with a thin giant beige head and a sour sweet tart acidic/lactic aroma. Light bodied, very acidic with caramel amber malts then sour acidic sweet tarts with some leathery notes. Solid stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark amber with a small head.Nose shows heavy Bretty notes, caramel, soft woody notes and a rose-like character.Flavours include caramel, bready malt, a decent acidity and some lemon notes.

Bottle. Unclear amber with a light beige head that’s soon a coat. Intriguing aroma with toasted grains, old lemons, oak, the laundry. Some floral and woody notes that I don’t want to say are like gumnuts, but they are. 7+ A sip is more impressive - there’s a very nice balance of toasted grainy sweetness, soft creaminess and a little overt acid. Carbonation is just on the low side of moderate. Fruity and herbal flavours are well integrated. Quite gentle - clearly going for sophisticated with a rustic undercroft. I don’t know whether I wanted a bit more presence but it’s a beguiling drop.
