Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo GBS share. Thanks Matthew! Pours a deep brown to black with a finger of foam that lingers. Milky chocolate, gingerbread, fudge brownie and cacao aromas on the nose with underlying bourbon. Not getting much rum on this. Maybe some coconut on the palate, more bourbon and chocolate ginger notes. Smooth, with medium to low carbonation. Flavors are well integrated, but wanted a touch more rum. Nice bottle though. --- Beer merged from original tick of Double Barrel GBS (Gingerbread Stout) on 24 Mar 2018 at 19:00 - Score: 8

32oz crowler, thanks to DCLawyer. Thanks Donnie and Jason! Wow, this was like drinking from the Beer Holy Grail this Winter season. Poured a nearly pitch black color with some light brown edges on the glass, like almost all the other versions of this beer. Aromas were mellow rum, whiskey. The base beer elements were pretty well muted, but they were replaced by a really tasty eggnog smelling beer. Seriously, this smells like my Mother-in-law's delicious eggnog. Smooth and easy to drink, I kind of rolled my eyes at this one when I first heard about it, but ended up finding this one to perhaps be the best version of GBS to date.

Tap at the C-ville brewery, yesterday. Pours black, thick. Chocolate, alcohol, raisin, vanilla, ginger, earth, wood in the aroma - quite nice, this will be strong. Flavor is immediate barrel - lots of it too, then chocolate, ginger, earth, oak, eggnog. Very nice. Strong... tastes higher than the 10.6%.

12 oz pour on draft at Barrel & Bushel, served in a Belgian snifter. Fun little mishap story, ask me or DCLawyer. Black with tan head. Aromas of big rum, bourbon, light ginger, oak, dark chocolate, cocoa. Tastes of ginger, bourbon, oak, big rum, booze, dark chocolate. Spices take a backseat to the barrels. Full body with a dry finish. Strong with all the barrel as advertised.
