It may come as surprise to some, but brewers love lager! That’s right, especially our resident German and Head Brewer, Thorsten. Hailing from the town in which he first put his brewing skills to work, he’s been longing to create a beer like this for a while. What better time than the Highland winter months; the prefect time for the slow, bottom fermenting yeast to work their magic – culminating in this luscious, red beauty of a beer. This delicious München red lager is a more-ish mix of bready malt flavours – balanced by a gentle, spicy bitterness and a clean, crisp finish.

330ml can from Beer52: BB 18th Nov 2020. Poured into a half-litre old Schultheiss glass at home on 14th Mar 2020. Mini haze to the dull amber body, beige head that hung around for a while. Malty and semi-sweet, giving way to a mild bitterness in the finish, light floral notes also.

440ml can. Poured a clear reddish amber colour with a big lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy toffee caramel malt. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, biscuit malt, light sweet fruity, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A slightly hazy copper coloured pour with a loose cream head; caramel aroma with a touch of yeast; rich, sliky caramel taste with a solid malty body; and a clean crisp finish. An excellent amber lager.

Clear amber beer with a great, thick head. Malty aroma. Lager-y but with body and oomph. Toasty and earthy but with crisp fresh flavour you'd want from something like this. Better than I was giving it credit for on my first taste. Loads of depth
