Black Isle was started by David Gladwin in 1998. An unemployed beer lover, he set out to make world-class beer using barley and hops, grown on organic farms, without the use of destructive chemicals. Black Isle Brewing Co is Scotland’s only organic brewery; pioneering craft beer from our beautiful, wild - and sometimes wet - Highland home. Organic is at the heart of everything we do - we believe in making great tasting beer using only natural ingredients, grown without the use of harmful chemicals.
