Cusqueña Dorada is the most appreciated beer in Peru. Its exquisite flavor and intense golden color are obtained due to a special production process with triple filtering. The distinctive flavor and aroma are achieved using 100% selected barley malt in combination with the finest aromatic hops. The dedication with which it is made is reflected in its perfectly wrought bottle and a label inspired by the mysticism of Machu Picchu, one of the wonders of the world.

Crisp golden coloured body with a smooth, small, two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of grainy malts, a touch of light citrus, but mainly a light yeasty and bready component with no real character. Light-bodied; Strong rich malty flavours dominate that go down very easy and shows some softer grain, yeast and light sweetness from a dash of bitterness from some very stale hops that barely come through at the finish. Aftertaste is strong in terms of the malt and light, funky sugars, but very little else comes through - only a dash of effervscence and a touch of sweetness. Overall, a pretty poor beer, but that was expected, with only a light malt flavour and a softer sugar flavour from the residual sugars, but a strong bready and yeast profile makes this a relatively typical lager. I'd be interested in trying some of the other variants from this brewery, but this was the only available here in the restaurant. I sampled this 33 cL bottle, sampled with some good [better than this] Peruvian food, at Pio Pio 8 in New York, New York with my wife and three kids at dinner on 07-December-2019 for US$7,00.

Golden color, soft grainy aroma. Grainy, but also flowery hopbitter flavor. Old hops and some cardboard, but all n all this beer isn’t really bad.

Bottle shared at Dutch Brewery Ticking Session with Sjogro and ShivanDragon. Clear golden color, average sized white head. Smell and taste malts, grainy, grainy sweetish. Not much more to it. Average. Mwah. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Cusqueña Imported Lager on 19 Sep 2013 at 14:21 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 4. Original review text: Bottle [thanks to Teddybeer] shared with Dutchdrebus and Martinus @ weekly tasting. Hazy light orange color, virtually no head. Smell and taste lightly malts, lightly dry and lightly bitter. Not a lot to tell, but nothing really wrong with it either.

Bottle pour into pub glass from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is crystal clear golden yellow with attractive sparkle, finger-width foamy off-white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is mild caramel and fruit. Taste is mild caramel, cardboard, hint of fruit. Palate is light bodied with thin texture, average carbonation with lively zing at the swallow, finish as taste. Overall, am soooo glad this didn't have the metallic, pilsner malt profile of so many pale lagers from around the world. Wouldn't seek out again but preferable to many. A milder brew suited to hot climates with a premium for thirst quenching.
