For far too long the tyrannical industrialized beer overlords have disgraced and cheapened the noble heritage of the pilsner with their relentless multi-generational downward drive to commercialized homogenization. Over decades, this once vaulted style has been slowly and methodically gutted, bringing forth a soulless and anemic result, all the while spending billions in advertising to convince the unwitting public that their fizzy yellow end result was beer. Well, I will not have it. We are striking back for true craft by stealing the pilsner back from their evil clutches, and restoring it to its almighty glory. They do it cheaply. We do it right. Choose vapidity, or choose righteousness...but whatever you do, choose wisely.

A pronounced pure white head on a yellow straw body. An understated nose features a spritz of lemon and pils malt. This is a stone revelation - understated, clean and a touch unobtrusive. Taste profile leads with classic pils malt but is supported by lemon and grapefruit hoppiness. It is reasonably dry with a touch of pepper and a hint of cherry in the aftertaste. Very clean, refreshing and light.

Poured a nice clear gold from tall boy. Grassy malts but some nice pilsner bitterness. Clean finish. Really great pilsner.

On tap at Uptown Freehouse. Pours gold with a fluffy white head. Floral, elderflower, Turkish delight, lemon, peach, orange, rose. Medium body. Quite pungent for the style. Fine.

1pint can from a shop in Denmark. The beer starts fresh and floral. Grainy deep with a very dry body. The hops are intense floral, fresh and malty. Nice and refreshing with lots of intense hops.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Fergus for the can. Clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, sweetish. Light bready notes. A little spice and orange peel. Some floralness in the semi dry finish. Tidy but for me should be crisper.

can - Clear yellow pour, aroma of grainy malt, hops, some fruity character. The flavor has crisp hops bitterness along with grainy, biscuity malt, and light citrus. Light to medium bodied. Like many, I regarded Stone's production of a fizzy yellow beer with some horror, but this is a good pils.
