Flasche aus einem Berliner Supermarkt. - Rotgold, klar, wenig Schaum. In der Nase etwas obergärige Fruchtigkeit und leichter Hopfen. Im Antrunk überraschend dünn, fast wäßrig. Schüchterne „rote“ Fruchtnoten, die von fern an ein „richtiges“ Ale erinnern, auf schwach gerstig-karamelliger Grundlage werden rasch von einer unerwartet kräftigen, holzig-herben Hopfenbittere mit einer Prise Rauch abgelöst. Sehr langer, holzig-bitterer Nachtrunk. - Etwas dünn, aber die großzügige aromatische Bittere macht einiges wieder wett. Eins der wenigen Supermarktbiere, die man mit Genuß trinken kann. An ein echtes Düsseldorfer Alt reicht es freilich nicht heran ... - Mit dem echten Ducksteinbier, das seit dem Mittelalter in Königslutter am Elm gebraut wurde, hat dieses Bier wenig gemeinsam - das Original war ein Weizenbier und dürfte deutlich stärker gewesen sein, denn es wurde bis in die Niederlande exportiert. Ärgerlich ist, daß die Brauerei Lübz nicht genannt wird und statt dessen eine fiktive „Duckstein GmbH“ auf dem Etikett erscheint. Wozu dieser Etikettenschwindel?

0.5L botte, amber beer with a small white head, aroma is malts, taste is sweet, malts, small bitterness, good beer but i expected a little bit more.

Auch wenn ich die Werbung und Flasche, die ich nirgendwo zurückgeben kann, unglaublich nervig finde, so gefällt mir das Bier recht gut. Es ist ein gefälliges, malzlastiges Bier mit schönen erdigen Torf- und holzigen Raucharomen, die etwas platt wirken, aber gut miteinander harmonieren. Ein aromatisches Feierabendbier.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Bitter taste of hops, replaced by malty and caramellish sweetness, itself ending in a dryish, a little smoky aftertaste. Richly carbonated. Not bad!

Bouteille 500ml. De couleur cuivrée et claire. Nez de grains de malt pâle aux notes terreuses, léger de caramel doux avec des notes de houblon floral . Moyenne-mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture aux petites notes crémeuses. Faibles traces fruitées ( agrumes) lors de l’entrée en bouche suivi rapidement d’un goût de grains de céréales avec des petites notes de caramel doucement aux notes terreuses et aux traces rôties puis une amertume légere de houblon floral vient se rajouter au goût en finale. Post-goût moyen et sec, légèrement amer de houblon floral.

Bottle in Vail, courtesy of Rasmus40. Thanks! Hamburg tick. Pours a clear, rust orange appearance with a tan head. Nutty, toasty caramel malty, herbal, grassy aroma. A bit light woody, slightly toasty malty, grassy, a bit floral flavor. Ok but doesn’t compare to its Dusseldorf counterparts.

Amber colour with a tan head. Light sweet roasted caramel and light fruity nose. Medium body. Balanced sweetness and a dry bitter finnish. Moderate roasted caramel malt flavour and some fruity notes.

Draught, 0.33l. Clear amber color with medium creamy tan-like head. Aroma of malt, hops and dried fruits. Taste starts with nutty maltiness, followed by a bit sourish fruitiness, although mouthfeel is still quite bland. Finish is lightly bitter. Light to medium body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. Expected something better...

50 cl. bottle from REWE. Clear, amber colour with a bubbly, white head that fades to a thin cap. Malty, somewhat subdued aroma with bread, toasted malts and an earthy note. Hops are grasses and floral. Taste is sweet with good malts. Medium body with a lively carbonation, that dots the palate. Finishes with caramel malts and a herbal bitterness. Perhaps a little overcarbonated, otherwise a good experience.

Pours clear deep golden with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and floral hops. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
