Bottle, smallish creamy bubbly head, very cloudy dark brown color, aroma of dark bread, caramel , some chocolate and something reminiscent of oak barrels, flavor of dried fruits, caramel and dark bread, quite sweet with a light to medium chocolaty bitterness. Good textbook dopplebock.

Bottle, picked up from the shop in the Augsburg tap, consumed in a compo behind the mighty 103245 en route to Ulm 06/02/15. Dark chestnut brown with a solid tan covering. Nose is rich malt, treacle toffee, biscuit, spice. Taste comprises light spice, cocoa powder, light booze, dark malt, treacle toffee. Medium + body, fine carbonation, light booze tunes in the close. Decent well balanced bock.

Bottle. Pours hazy coffee brown with shades of dark ruby and airy beige head. Clear aroma of caramel malt, yeast and fruit, with touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with roasty and hoppy notes. Touches of dark chocolate and hints of raisins. Lively carbonation. Bitterish and roasty aftertaste with sweetish notes. Well-balanced and decent. A good Doppelbock.

Flasche (66 cl) von Bierlieb, Berlin. - Tiefes Kastanienbraun, klar, reichlich beigefarbener Schaum.

Bottle, 7.5%. Mild bready aroma, some sweet malt and brown sugar. Clear dark chestnut colour. Good stable tight brown head. Sweet flavour, dark fruits, a little citric. Reminds me of Andechser Doppelbock, which I love, but fortunately less sweet and unfortunately more citric.
