0.5l flip-top bottle from tengelmann in münchen. pours a clear amber with a medium off-white head. aroma of caramel, dried fruits, leaves, leather. flavour of raisins, prunes, caramel, tobacco, syrup. alcohol is noticeable but not overwhelming. good, if a bit too sweet for me.

0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’, best before September 2016. Clear, dark amber with a medium large, slightly creamy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, moderately fruity aroma of caramel, treacle, raisins, prunes and brown sugar. Rather sweet, malty and a bit fruity taste of caramel, brown sugar, treacle, raisins and prunes, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really well-balanced, round and quite intense Doppelbock. Tasty!

500 ml bottle. Pours a muddy, medium brown, with a mocha head that dissipates quickly. Dark coffee and chocolate are the most prominent scents, with a slight hint of ripe banana underneath. It is medium-heavy in sweetness with flavors of coffee, caramel, and Kaluha. Full-bodied with a creamy texture and soft carbonation. The finish is mildly bitter and is where you really get a lot of the "alcohol" taste.
Overall, I find this to be a great beer and don’t really have much to quibble about other than to complain that I don’t have another one waiting for me in the fridge. :)

Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. Pours dark brown with a fine low foam. Some ripe apricot, but mostly lots of caramel and sweet chocolate. Less sweet than my deScription might imply, but still hefty. Low but lingering finish.

Amazing. Rich and well-rounded body. It doesn’t have that much malty sweetness, only a little. But still everything fits together really well. Roast, dried fruit, chocolate and a very little hint of coffee in the finish. There is also a note, that I would mostly describe as cactus, which sounds really unfriendly, but it is not :) Overall one of my favourites.

Brown-amber color with beige head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is caramel, raisins, some booze. Taste is toffee, caramel, raisins, liquorice, quite chewy. Carbonation is average. It’s a bit too sweet and alcoholic I think.

Kibble and dates nose, hints of honey and vinegar. Muddy brown, medium yellow head, little retention. Rich caramel, kibble and grain. Raisin finish. Medium body easy carbonation. Dynamic for the style, well balanced.
