Das IPA der Insel-Brauerei gewann 2016 den World beer award in London. Das schreibt man dann gleich mal auf alle anderen Flaschen auch der anderen Biersorten drauf. Auf der homepage findet man aber schnell, dass nur das IPA und das Sour Ale eine Auszeichung erhalten hatten. Warum das IPA gerade zu dieser Ehre gekommen ist, weiß ich nicht. Vielleicht waren es ja die gleichen Tester die das Ottakringer Helle beim European Beer Star prämiert hatten. Das Bier ist nicht schlecht. Ein solides IPA mit kaum Fehlaromen. Es ist gut süffig und angenehm zu trinken. Auch der Bierstil des IPA ist gut getroffen. Aber das weltweit beste IPA...ich weiß nicht. Man kann es auf jeden Fall probieren und wenn die Erwartungen nicht übertrieben hoch sind, dann hat man ein angenehmes BIer.

Hazy medium golden colour, tall frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma pale malts, pineapple, vanilla, light mint, Flavour medium sweet and light to medium bitter, malty, pineapple, butter, light mint. Bit stalish sweetbitter aftertaste, minerals, dusty and peppery notes. Not a good example of an IPA, lacks bitterness.

Appearance: Medium brown, slight haze. Lots of creamy, light tan head.
Aroma: Light hops, butterscotch.
Taste: Rattling hops, light butterscotch, slight dank. One of the least IPA IPAs I've had...

Troebel geel bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is bitter hoppig en licht fruitig met iets van thee. Voor een IPA heeft dit bier wat mij betreft iets te weinig bitterheid.

Bottle, big long lasting bubbly frothy head, very cloudy deep orange color, aroma amd flavor of rotten oranges, fruit and bready maltiness, medium strong empathic bitterness. Good enjoyable IPA.

0,33 l bottle. Pours out in an murky dark orange with an one finger white head. Fresh floral hopy smell. Taste starts hopy, with a strong coconut part. As known, I don´t like coconut. Medicore bitterness. High carbonation. Not my cup of tea due to the coconut element.

0.5l bottle from rewe in lörrach, 2.99€. pours a cloudy amber orange with a big off-white head. aroma of pickles, passionfruit, flowers, tobacco, coconut, aniseed. flavour of pickles, passionfruit, pink peppercorn, leather. dry but not sour. interesting.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, deep orangey amber with some floaties and a dense and very creamy white head. Spicy coconut aroma - but disappointingly subtle knowing that it’s Sorachi Ace, we’re dealing with. Medium body, low in carbonation, very soft on the palate, spice hop notes from the Sorachi, but again a little too downplayed. Try a thing called dry-hopping.... 300817
