Bottle from Albert Heijn. Poured a murky medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, tropical fruit, toffee caramel hop. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a dry, crisp, fresh, fruity, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Pours amber from the bottle with a stable, creamy head. Murky. Aroma is caramel, floral, honey melon. Taste has a tangy bitterness, quite dry. Body is medium. Okay, but a tick under the average for my taste.

Off white tight bubbly head stayed on a hazy light brown coloured, highly active body. Malt, caramel & hop aroma. Medium bodied. Light & aireated on the palate. Clean on the back. A bit thin. Well balanced hop & malt. Bitter tastes of pith, caramel, lemon, grapefruit & a long tangy finish.

Bottle. Color: Hazy amber, off white head. Taste: Floral hops, medium sweet and lightly bitter. Spices, grassy. Medium to light body and carbonation. Bit dry mouthfeel. Not a real IPA in my opinion.

Bottle. Golden pour. Aroma has that strange sorachi fruity cream, vanilla, citrus and malt. Taste of sorachi fruit cream, vanilla, biscuity malt, grassy citrus and a hoppy finish that nicely showcases the ace. Better than expected.

330ml bottle. Hazy, amber colour with small to average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of coconut, underlying hints of pear, a touch of horseradish. Taste is bitter and herbal hoppy, notes of coconut, a touch of horseradish. Very dominant coconut flavours - needs better integration of the Sorachi Ace and/or combination with other hop types.

Bottle at home from AH. Hazy amber with offwhite head. Sweet malts, caramel, dough, some salt, lychee or some other rare exotic fruit fruitiness, sweetened tea, rhubarb or some other weird vegetal note. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and average carbonation. It’s a bit of a mess, but a drinkable mess. When taking more time, it shows some nice complexity. Tastes and aromas seem to change a bit keeping me curious. --- Beer merged from original tick of Insel-Brauerei Übersee Hopfen (Japan - Sorachi Ace) on 09 Jan 2018 at 13:13 - Score: 6
