Massively dry-hopped American Sour Ale. Amorous is aged in red wine barrels for approximately 8-10 months and then dry-hopped with over 3.5 pounds per barrel. We love this beer both fresh off the dry hop and cellar aged.

Bottle @ benzai. Hazy orange red colour with a large white head. Smells oak, wood, sourish. Tastes sourish, oak, wood, grape, grapepeel, wine, vanilla. Medium body, soft carbo.

Bottle at level 42, thanks to Matteo. It pours hazy orange with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, tart, bright, ripe stone fruit, sour orange, sherbet, lactic and wood. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, sugared citrus, wood, orange sherbet, lemon, light jam and some acidity. Finish is dry and tart. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but it is rather refreshing and drinkable. Good one.

Bottle shared on Level 42 23/01/2017. Many thanks to Matteo for this one. A hazed golden orange coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is lovely juicy funky orange, tangerine, spicy sour yogurt, caramac bar. Flavour is composed of sour citrus juicy orange, tangerine sour, salty, pithy lemon salt. Palate is sour and tangy, highish carbonation, spicy. Really good.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Matteo. Pours hazy orange with a slim, white foam head. Musty wood in the nose, some aged lemon, damp hay bales. Light sweet flavour with moderate acidity, woody dryness, lemony tartness, hay. Light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Finishes with some sweaty acidity, lemon juice, more musty hay. Not bad overall.

Tap at Churchkey into a snifter showing well filtered orange and sparse white foam. The nose shows bretty funk with tart cherry, apricot, and light oranges without an citrus edge. The palate is highly carbonated and medium bodied. Moderately tart with a distinct lack of flavor throughout – no malt, no fruit, nothing. It’s almost drinking seltzer water with a slight tartness. Texture shows the light tannins from the barrel that leave the palate slightly dry. The finish shows a whisper of the same fruit notes found on the nose but once again nothing. Light hints of this fruit appears upon warming up but once again too subtle to be enjoyable.
