RODENBACH is the unique & original “Flanders Red Ale”, recognised as a traditional local product. Mixed main fermentation and maturation in oak casks (“foeders”) give it the same sweet-sour flavour and complex fruitiness as wine.
RODENBACH consists of 3/4 young beer and 1/4 beer matured two years in oak. It's is highly refreshing and appetising: the perfect apéritif or session ale!

Amber, clear with a medium off white head. Clean aroma of red berries, cherries. Medium sour, minimal sweetness with a good cherries end. Like

Can. A- Tangy, oak, mild cherry. A- Burnt copper red color, hazy liquid, off white head. T- Cherry, slightly tart, mild oak. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, refreshing finish. O- One of those beers that make you appreciate the art of brewing. No frills and a time honored classic. Balance of oak, tartness, cherry, and complexity.

250ml bottle, completely new beer style to me. Reddish brown pour with a small off-white head. Aroma to me was like a decent apple cider with the tannins present but there is clearly a fruitiness and malt in the background. Taste is sweet and tart with berries, some oak and wine, nice malt depth. Good body and a high carbonation at first but settles down nicely. Very good, why isn't this style more widespread?
