Bottle from Waitrose and drunk at home. Deep mahogany orange colour lasting beige head. Spicy hoppy malty aroma. Spicy rye malt no doubt on aroma plus some good intense hop. Good in mouth. A decent strong malty beer. Good fruit mlat. good spicy rye. I liked the balance of sweetish malt and spicyness and hoppyness. Some juicy malt on the finish with some pepper and spice on the finish. Decent enough. I liked it.

Bottle from Waitrose, Comely Bank shared with Ashton McCobb. Aromas of toffee and red fruit. Bit of spice from the rye. Taste is biscuit, faint citrus, chestnut puree. Light bitterness at the back. Another well- balanced beer from this series.

Bottle from Waitrose Oxford St. Drank as my Fuller's rate #100! It pours clear deep brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is rich, bitter - sweet, spicy, rivita, rye bread, cereal, bit of toffee and gingerbread. The taste is bitter - sweet, pretty spicy upfront, brown bread, earth, gingerbread, bit of toffee, toasted nut, wood, graininess, raisin and some oily orange with a slick, brown bread finish. Medium body and fine/low carbonation. Actually hides the abv pretty well. Decent enough strong rye ale, although it could be done with a touch more carbonation if anything.

Cask at the Wellington; clear light copper pour with a thin light magnolia head, aroma has sweet malts and marmalade hints, taste is very sweet with some red fruit action a bit jammy but some robust malt action going on.

Well-kept cask ale, half pint at The Wharf in Aalborg. Near-clear mahogany coloured body. Beige head, dotted spots on the glass. modest caramel and earthy malts on the nose, hints of dark fruits. Blended taste of dark spices, dried fruits and toffee followed by oily resinous bitterness towards the ending. Fine bodied. Rounded on the swallow. Pleasant. (15.08.2017).

330ml bottle from Waitrose - Aug 15 2017 - Deep amber with an off-white head. Nose of malt, bread, caramel, fruits and hints of citrus and pine. A bit on the sweet side, but a bitter finish helps balancing it quite well. Also had on Cask at Coach and Horses Dronfield, Thornbridge the lead brewer.
