Cette Extra Special Bitter de couleur acajou offre un nez de malt caramel harmonisé à un léger arôme de houblon. En bouche, elle est fruitée, avec un goût de malt bien présent et une amertume évidente, mais non dominante.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to English pint glass.
Appearance: dark amber to brown color with a three finger eggshell white foamy head which took it's time to dissipate and leaving some light lace.
Aroma: dark bread, cocoa powder, caramel/toffee malts, some nuttiness; and an ever so slight dose of coffee beans on the back end
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas together fairly malty bitter with a light dark bready aftertaste
Texture: medium bodied, sessionable; malty smooth along the tongue; finishes malty and nutty
Overall: as an ESB it works and I'd return to. Pass the fish n' chips for this!

A red of a different colour, this one. A dense off-white head with strong sustained lacing. A slightly murky Amber/mahogany body. The nose is a gentle blend of malt, earth-based herbs and a slight fruity accent. Ground nuts are a lead element in the taste in balance roasted sweet malt, a touch of citrus and some rye-like spice. Hints of dark berries as the taste settles. A medium body with a slight slickness to it. This is a red that resists the tendency towards over sweetness. About the best of the style around
Malty, hoppy, bitter, bread and caramel, smooth. A lovely esb.

Draught from Blind Tiger. Poured somewhat transparent orange brown. Hops aroma, some piney citrus, but some weird herbal lingering that wasn’t that great too.

Great aroma of caramel malt, and a good hit of english hops! Loads of flavour here, the hops really come through, but are perfectly complimented bu the malt, GREAT ESB.

Can from Beer Republic. Aroma is brown malts with caramel, toffee, some fruity notes, toasty grain, bittering hops, and a touch of tobacco. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Moreish malty brew.

473 ml can. Pours a darkish mahogany with moderate light head. Aromas of bready malts almost like gingerbread, dry caramel, and misc fruit. Flavors of acrid dry malts and a little powdery caramel with a bitter fruity finish

Draft at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured a clear dark amber colour with a big frothy white head. The aroma is big sweet malt. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, earthy, light floral, woody hop bitter palate. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.
